Anthony was originally articled with Markbys, which has since become part of CMS Cameron McKenna. Since qualifying in 1980 he has specialised in employment law, with a particular bias on the contentious side.
He has combined that with commercial litigation, and been involved in some high profile cases, notably Atlantic Computers and various actions on behalf of the late Tiny Rowland. He is now full time within the employment group.
He has acted for a wide range of different clients in all aspects of employment law. He has been responsible for two employment cases which have gone to the House of Lords, Dimbleby & Sons –v- NUJ [1984] 1 WLR 427 and Halfpenny –v- IGEMedical (December 2000).
He regularly acts as a mediator in employment and other disputes, and was amongst the first to be recognised by Chambers Directory as a leader in that field. He is a member of the Court of Appeal mediation scheme.
He has written and spoken widely on employment law and has recently had articles published in The Times, the Employment Law Journal, The Lawyer and other publications. He is editor of the employment section of Sweet &Maxwell Commercial Law Precedents.
He is a member of the City of London Law Society Employment Law Sub-Committee.
