Andrew Paton qualified as a solicitor in 1981 having studied law at Exeter. On qualification he joined Pinsent & Co (now Pinsent Masons) at their Birmingham office and became a partner in 1986.

Andrew has a wide range of experience in general commercial litigation, construction and property disputes and professional negligence. He has defended claims against surveyors, architects, engineers, insurance brokers, financial advisors as well as solicitors and accountants. He has over 15 years experience in mediation and has mediated over 400 cases.

Having run the insurance litigation group at his firm for eight years, Andrew assumed a management role in 2004, becoming responsible for Risk Management, claims and complaints handling, and professional indemnity insurance.
